The roofing material is a medium cut hand-split cedar shake. We used 1x3's spaced for every course to create an airflow for longevity.

Southern yellow pine siding from North Carolina. Very heavy and dense.

The face of the siding is given 2 coats of California storm stain exterior primer.

The backside is also given 2 coats of primer. Rabah is brushing the grooves first for complete coverage.

Not as drastic as this: An old house move down State St. at Market Square. It looks like the corner of the house took some elm branches with it. The privy is up about two feet to repair the brick foundation.

Beams and Cribbing

Steel beams are lifted into place to support structure. The steel is rested on a bed of cribbing.

On a great recommendation from Dave Mack, the cribbing is placed inside the building to keep the lane open for the upcoming Garden Tour.

The floor system was totally removed to expose foundation. The new floor height will be raised another 8 inches.

The original flooring is almost 2" thick and in great shape, we will be able to salvage it.

At some point 2x sleepers were used to raise the floor height.

The flooring over the sleepers is a typical tongue and groove board. It is not worth salvaging.

We are setting up the site for removal of doors, windows and flooring. We do not want these items to break during lifting.
